Mrs. Emma Fudge Dies; Former Concordian Lived in Scandia

Mrs. Emma Fudge, resident of Scandia, died Saturday evening at St. Joseph's hospital. She was 82.

Mrs. Fudge was born Oct. 8, 1877, at Clay Center, Neb., the daughter of James and Elizabeth Smith. She was married to Andrew Fudge at Jennings, Kans., and lived in Concordia for many years before going to Scandia to make her home with her brother, Jack Smith. She was a member of the Assembly of God church.

She is survived by three sons, Lester Fudge, Skamokawa, Washington; Raleigh Fudge of Africa; and Andrew Fudge Jr. of Kathlamet, Wash.; four daughters, Mrs. Gladys Fratus, Miami, Fla.; Mrs. Lyle Wiedeman, San Joe, Calif.; Mrs. Lee Barber, San Jose, Calif.; Mrs. Vic Siemers, of Bowbell, N.D.; three brothers; Eugene Smith, Yakima, Wash.; Hyland Smith, Sinia, Colo.; Jack Smith, Scandia; Three sisters; Mrs. Mammie Rice, Macomb. Ill.; Mrs. Nellie Duchow, Concordia; Mrs. Harry Elliott, Wilmington, Calif.; 16 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. One sister and three brothers preceded her in death.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

The body of Mrs. Emma Fudge will lie in state at the Smith funeral home.
