Clinton A. Ellis, 32, died Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014, at his residence in Newton, Kan.
Clinton "Andrew" Ellis was born on April 3, 1981, in Blackwell, the son of Lawrence "LeRoy" Ellis and Vronda Buxton Ellis. Clinton moved to Newton with his family in 1986, when Clinton was in Kindergarten. He attended Newton public schools. While most of his family called him "Clint", he preferred his friends to call him "Andrew".
He was a driver for Rail Crew Express for about four years.
Andrew was an avid gamer and enjoyed his weekly game night with his friends and spending time with family. He had a great sense of humor and was a loyal friend.
He is survived by his parents; paternal grandparents, Eddie and Norma Ellis and maternal grandmother, Bonnie Buxton Gingerich and her husband, Marvin Gingerich, all of Blackwell; one brother, Brian Ellis and wife, Carrie, of Ponca City; two sisters, Melissa Ellis and fiancée, Steven Rangel and Valerie Garver and husband, Josh, of Newton, Kan.; nine nieces and nephews, Tiffany Olmstead, Michael Olmstead, Shelbie Ellis, Erika Lally, Dallas Funk, Andy Ellis, Storm Lally, Devon Funk and Caylee Garver and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Norman Buxton.
A memorial service will be held at Columbus Ave. Church of Christ in Newton, Kan. at 3 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 10, with minister Buddy Aldridge presiding.
Graveside committal will be in Blackwell Cemetery at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 11. Arrangements are under the direction of Peterson Funeral Home, Newton, Kansas.
