Jesse N. Adams

Jesse N. Adams, 89, of 604 Stewart St., Yakima, died Thursday afternoon in his residence.
Mr. Adams was born April 12, 1893 in Mountain City, Tenn., to John and Emma Virginia (Northington) Adams. He was raised and educated in Tennessee and lived in Oregon before moving to Tacoma in 1914. He married Eva Anna Franzen in Tacoma June 26, 1916.
He was employed by the Union Oil Co. of Tacoma and Puyallup for 28 years before moving to Wapato in 1942. He ranched in Wapato from 1942 to 1962 when he moved to Selah. He moved to Yakima in 1964.
He was a member of the Parker Heights Presbyterian Church and Wapato Lodge 171, F&AM, of which he was a past master and life member. Also, he belonged to Afifi Temple of the Shrine, Yakima Shrine Club, Scottish Rite Bodies and Shrine Patrol and was past patron of Ualtee Chapter 183, Order of Eastern Star, Wapato.
He is survived by his wife, Eva Anna Adams of Yakima; a daughter, Mrs. Ernest (Ella Mae) Fenn of Seattle; two sons, Ray Adams of Federal Way and Wayne Adams of Yakima; 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; one brother, John Edgar Adams, and one sister, Mrs. Robert (Hattie) Brown, both of Mountain City, Tenn.; and several nieces and nephews. One son, George Adams, died April 12, 1964.
