Mr. Howard D. Burough, 80, was born on May 25, 1935 in Delphos, Kansas to Wilson E. and Ruth L. Marler Burough. Howard attended Delphos Public Schools and graduated from Glasco Rural High School, Glasco, KS in 1953. Howard worked in farming, construction and packing house prior to entering in the United States Army in 1956. After serving 22 years, Howard retired as a First Sergeant in 1978. Following retirement from the military, Howard worked at various occupations including a route service man to owning a road map vending business. He was also involved in real estate and court house searches dealing with Uniform Commercial Code, lawsuits, judgements and both State and Federal taxes. Howard enjoyed camping and traveled four times to the West Coast. Woodworking and fishing were his favorite past times.
Howard's parents, one daughter ; Tina Marie Burough, Son; Henry W. Burough, sister Donna Opat preceded him in death. Left to cherish his memories is his wife; Rosemary Burough, son; Frank (Jane) Burough of Grafton, Massachusetts. Daughter –in-Law Karen Burough, one brother Irvin G. Burough, one grandson Jesse Burough of Grovetown and three granddaughters Laura Jane Burough of Grovetown, GA, Amanda (Neal) Jennings of Augusta, GA and Alison Blythe Burough of Grafton, Massachusetts .
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shriner's Burn Hospital for children at 4400 Clayton Avenue St. Louis, MO 314-432-3600
The visitation for Mr. Howard D. Burough will be held at 5 P.M. – 7 P.M. on Thursday at Elliot Sons Funeral Home, Columbia Road Chapel, Martinez, Ga. The funeral services will be at 1 P.M.Friday, September 4, 2015 at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, Columbia Road Chapel, Martinez, Ga. with Rev Larry Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park with full military honors.
