JAMES L NOBLE
James was the son of Harriet W. (Frick) and James A Noble.

James L. Noble took after hi father and became a very prominent citizen and well known Merchant in Keithsburg for many years. From 1887 to 1890 he was in business with Wickett Brothers. In 1890 he went into the Dry Goods business under the name of Noble and Orth. {Probably with his brother-in-law was Cyrus Orth who was also a Merchant}. He continued in that business partnership until Sep 13, 1902, when he opened his own business.

On Feb 4, 1891 he married Lollie B. Eddington. To this union was born one daughter, Genevieve L. Noble.

James was elected Supervisor of Keithsburg Township in 1887, 1889, 1899 and 1901. He served as chairman of the board one term, and part of a second term. He was a member of the building committee which erected the County Infirmary in 1902. James also served as alderman for several years and had the honor of being appointed the second Mayor of Keithsburg.
