Reuben Herbert Scheff was born to Herbert and Mary (Meshke) Scheff on March 25, 1922 at Fortuna, North Dakota. He was baptized and confirmed and also attended school in Fortuna. As a young man, Reuben moved with his family to Lockhart, Minnesota, followed by a move to the Mahnomen area in 1942.
On June 28, 1951 Reuben was united in marriage to Lorraine Hogenson. They purchased a farm in rural Mahnomen where they have resided since.
Surviving Reuben is his wife of 61 years, Lorraine; four sons: Robert (Jane) of Memphis, Indiana, Dan of Mahnomen, Kim (Lori) of College Park, Maryland, and Todd of Mahnomen; six grandchildren: Shawn, Scott, Susan, Steven, Samantha and Skylar; one great-granddaughter, Savannah; one brother, Albert (Marlys) Scheff of Mahnomen; one sister, Helen Grove of Staples, Minnesota; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter-in-law, Roberta, two brothers and three sisters.
Memorial Services will be held Friday, January 25, 2013 at 11 am at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Bejou, Minnesota. A time of gathering will be held one hour prior at the church.
