Services for Acie Johnson Jr., 88, of Carlisle, South Carolina and formerly of Coolidge, are at 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017, at Mt. Sinai Apostolic Church on North Broad Street in Thomasville. Pastor Rickey Monroe will officiate and interment is in Jonas Lobe Cemetery in Bainbridge. Pallbearers are friends of the family. Mr. Johnson died Jan. 31 in Carlisle. Born Nov. 24, 1928, in Pelham, he was the son of the late Acie and Sallie Johnson. He was married to Melanese Daniels who preceded him in death. He attended the Pelham City School System and was a member of Fifth Street Church of Christ in Carlisle where he had lived for seven months and Mt. Sinai Apostolic Church in Thomasville. Survivors include his daughters, Robbie Ann Davis of New York, New York, Josephine (Robert) Edwards of Carlisle, South Carolina, Deirdre Debnam of Jacksonville, Florida, Shelita (Xavier) Close of Bainbridge, Kristie (Jeffrey) Mathis of Thomasville, Krista (Joe) Carlton of Hopkinville, Kentucky; son, Gregory (Donna) Thompson of Bainbridge; 11 grandchildren; brother-in-law, Charlie (Joyce) Daniel of Augusta; very special nieces and nephews, Arincie and Neil Sr. Sirmons, Georgette and Joe Barber; and numerous loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
