DONALD COLLINS DIED SUDDENLY AT HOUSTON, TEX.

Mrs. Daniel S. Collins of Modesto a former Grass Valley resident, who had been spending the past week here as the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bennallack of Empire street, received the sad and tragic news yesterday morning of the death of her son Donald B. Collins, 47, at Houston, Texas.
Donald B. Collins, a native of Grass Valley, who had won distinction as Louisiana district manager for the Shell Oil Company at Houston, was stricken ill shortly after entering his office yesterday morning. Although he was placed in an ambulance for an immediate trip to a hospital, he was declared as dead upon arrival. Family members were unaware of any indisposition in Collins' health.
Collins was born here, the son of Mrs. Collins and the late Daniel S. Collins, who died about seven years ago. The family was very well known. Later they continued to Berkeley to reside. Collins served in World War I with the United States forces and upon his discharge from service, again entered the University of California and received his degree. He became associated with the Shell Oil Company and for the past 10 years has been residing at Houston.
Donald B. Collins is survived by a wife, Bessie; a son Donald; a daughter, Elizabeth; his mother, Mrs. Collins of Modesto and Grass Valley; a sister, Mrs. Meriam Giddings, Modesto; an aunt, Mrs. William T. Jenkins, Berkeley and an uncle, Frank Bennallack of Grass Valley.
The body will be shipped to Grass Valley for services and burial under the direction of the Hooper-Weaver Mortuary, although the date is still indefinite.
