Beatrice was born on Feb. 13, 1934, in Graceville, Minn. to William and Helen Lucas. Her and her brother Don Lucas (Donnie), were raised in the Fargo Moorhead area.
Beatrice met her dance partner and life long partner, Lyle Parker in 1955 at the Rex café in Moorhead, Minn. Together they raised five children, Lyle Elmer Jr. “Butch”, Glen James (Jan), Kevin Charles (Deb), Joel William, and Tamara Ann (Brent Bushnell).
An amazing and colorful story teller describes Beatrice. The caring staff at Sweetwater Retirement Community appreciated and enjoyed her stories from her past as well as her quick humor. We remain touched by the many people at Sweetwater who worked mostly with their hearts, as well as their hands, to care for and love our mother.
Grandchildren and great-grandchildren were a joy for Beatrice. She loved to be called Beatrice instead of grandmother (or mother). She said it made her feel young and since she was the youngest spirited person we knew it seemed like a perfect fit. Beatrice loved everyone she met and they loved her right back. She took the time to learn about people and what was important to them. Beatrice was always interested in what you were doing and if there was anything she might do to help you. She will be missed by so many. Beatrice lives on in our hearts and minds and will live there forever.
Beatrice was preceded in death by her parents, William and Helen and her son, Lyle Jr.
Thank you, God, for wrapping your loving arms around Beatrice so she may receive her new body and live with You in heaven forever.
A graveside memorial service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday Sept. 3, 2014, at Mountview Cemetery; 1704 Central Ave.
