Lifelong City Resident
Mrs. Ruth S. (Newman) Crooker, 69, of 23 South Leyden St., wife of Leon E. Crooker, died Thursday night at the Brockton Hospital. She had been ill for several weeks and seriously ill for the past two weeks.
She was born in this city and had always made her home here. She attended Brockton schools. Mrs. Crooker attended the First Lutheran Church. She was a member of Unity Lodge, SFA.
Besides her husband, she is survived by a son, William L. Crooker of Reading; two grand-daughters, Linda A and Janet R. Crooker; two brothers, Retired Brockton Police Lt. Gustaf C. Newman of this city and John E. newman of West Bridgewater; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Monday at 1 P.M. from the Dahlborg Funeral Home. 647 Main St. Rev Harris L. Willis, pastor of First Lutheran Church, will officiate and interment will be held in Melrose Cemetery.
