Mr. Harold "Buddy" O'Neil, age 69, of Milton, passed away December 22, 2013. He was born October 9, 1944 in Columbia, South Carolina and lived most of his life in Santa Rosa County. Mr. O'Neil was a graduate of Milton High School and served in the United States Marine Corps from November 2, 1961 until March 1, 1966. He then served in Army National Guard from 1976-1978. Mr. O'Neil retired from NAS Whiting Field fire department after 28 years.

Harold and Carolyn were married August 29, 1965 in Andalusia, Alabama and were together 48 years. They share 3 daughters: Deborah O'Neil, Rebecca Thompson and Lisa Tedder; five granddaughters: Amy Crews, Allison Mason, Chelsee Thompson, Sarah Blackman and Olivia Tedder; and two great-grandsons Dayton Thompson and Lane Kendzerski.

Harold enjoyed gardening, fishing and hunting and most of all he enjoyed camping with his friends.

Pall Bearers for Mr. O'Neil's service were: Willard Stone, Royce Crenshaw, Bob Hamm, Donald Ray Sweeney, Robert Elliott, Bobby O'Neil, Wayne Wilks, James Owens, and Dormand Owens.

Services were held at National Cremation and Burial Society in Milton on Friday, December 27, 2013 with Pastor Donald Leavins officiating. Burial followed at Memory Park Cemetery.
