GALE HOOK DIES WHILE MOWING LAWN

FUNERAL SUNDAY FOR PROMINENT ROCKFORD, OHIO MAN

Gale Hook, 78, of Rockford, Ohio, widely known in this community, died unexpectedly at his home Thursday evening while mowing the lawn. Death was attributed to a heart attack. Mr. Hook was a retired farmer and a former Mercer County, Ohio commissioner.

He was born in Van Wert County, Ohio April 26, 1882, the son of Joseph and Alice Leslie Hook. He lived north of Willshire, Ohio in Mercer County, most of his life. Ten years ago, he moved to Rockford. He was married March 30, 1907, to Matie P. Fogle of Geneva. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Fogle.

Surviving is the wife; brother, Roy Hook, Willshire, Ohio; a half-brother, Charles Hook, Bluffton; a sister, Mrs. James Figley, Rockford R. R. 1, and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Hook attended the Methodist Church and was a member of the AMF Lodge # 667 at Willshire.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Ketcham Funeral Home at Rockford, with Rev. Paul Graf of the Rockford Methodist Church officiating. He will be assisted by Rev. A.E. Burk of Monroe. Burial will be in the Willshire Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 1:30 p.m. Saturday.
