Darwin Dale Hooper, the son of Luther and Lois Hooper, grew up in Hughson CA, and attended Hughson High School. He was an all star athlete who lettered 13 times in various sports. It was on the diamond where he reached his greatest brilliance and was signed by the Brooklyn Dodgers Farm Team. Dale achieved great success in his career for over 40 years in the construction industry in sales/architectural drafting. Many of the buildings he built during his career stand today in tribute to his great talent.

Dale served in the Army as a Field 1st Sergeant during the Korean war at Fort Ord CA, and was awarded 2 medals.

Dale is survived by his three daughters, Cheryle Fite of Modesto, Aimee Hooper-Woodgate of Bakersfield, Stacy Hooper of Bakersfield and several grandchildren, siblings Naomi Bibens, Coy Hooper, Anna Hooper, Gwenn and (Don) Radford and their respective families.

Dale was a kind and generous man who was liked by everyone that met him. His passions were sports, camping, fishing, and reading. He had a special compassion for animals and his beloved dog Molly.

Services will be held Friday May 22nd 12:30pm at the Bakersfield National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Bakersfield SPCA.
