Marilyn Angela DeRuvo Romano, 79, passed away on Friday. A native of Albany, NY she was the daughter of the late Frank DeRuvo and Margaret Britt DeRuvo. Marilyn was an active person who loved to do things with her family and especially her husband, Alfio. They enjoyed activities like cross country skiing, hiking and fishing. Marilyn especially enjoyed things like bird watching and swimming. She was a wonderful cook who enjoyed doing anything she could for her family. Marilyn worked as a Registered Nurse before and after raising her five children. The family will remember her as a loving wife, mother, sister, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner.

Mrs. Romano is survived by her husband of 56 years, Alfio Joseph Romano; daughters, Adelina Cavanagh and husband, Brian of Rock Hill, NY, Angela Byrum and husband, Scott of Willow Spring, Annemarie Romano of Staatsburg, NY; sons, Joseph Romano of Cicero, NY, Alfio John Romano and wife, Deborahann of Angier; brother, Robert DeRuvo of Afton, TN; grandchildren, Kieran Cavanagh, Emily Byrum, Jack Romano, Casandra Juliano and Lucy Byrum.
