Erving R. Myers, 77, of LeMoyne, formerly of Grand Island, died Sunday in a Scottsbluff hospital. Services will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home. The Rev. William Doran will officiate. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Trinity United Methodist Church or the Heart Fund.
Mr. Myers was born Feb. 27, 1905, at Wilmont, Minn., the son of Daniel and Emma Peters Myers. When he was a child the family moved to Brush, Colo. He grew up and received his education there. On Aug. 23, 1927, he married Juanita V. Tout at Lincoln. They farmed near Lincoln. In 1943 they came to Grand Island where he purchased the Lee Seed Co. He owned and operated Lee-Myers Seed Store here. Mrs. Myers died in October 1965. In 1966 he retired and moved to LeMoyne. On June 30, 1967 he married Frieda Baxa at Chappell. They lived in LeMoyne. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the Platt-Deutsche Society.
Survivors include his widow; two sons, Erving Jr. of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Bruce of Lincoln; two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Sandra) Yarns of Grand Island and Mrs. Lester (Pat) Brase of Dannebrog; two sisters, Dorothy Allen of Alamo, Texas, and Ethel Eades of New Raymer, Colo.; a half-sister, Olive Williams of Wyoming; a half-brother, Danny Myers of California, and 11 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Robert.
