A private inurnment service is planned for Charles DeWayne Rukes Sr. of Geary, who died Tuesday at Southwest Integris Hospital in Oklahoma City.
Mr. Rukes was born July 23, 1926, near Concho to Charley and Pearl (Dorland) Rukes. He graduated from Okarche High School in 1945 and was employed with Rock Island Railroad for about 28 years in the car department and as lead man on the wrecker. He later operated C.D. Rukes Construction, doing farm and oil field dozer work for several years.
Survivors include a son, Charles DeWayne Rukes Jr. of Geary, and two grandsons.
