William "Morris" McAdoo, 81, passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2016 in Rush Springs.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Friday, May 27, 2016, at the Vimy Ridge Baptist Church with Rev. David Hale officiating. Burial will be in the West View Cemetery in Rush Springs under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services in Marlow.

Morris was born Wednesday, October 17, 1934 in Sterling to Archie D. and Mona Lee (Haynes) McAdoo. He attended and graduated school from both Rush Springs High School and SWOSU in Weatherford. Morris married the love of his life Hester Bonita Yeary in Rush Springs on August 30, 1958. Other than the 10 years he lived in Big Springs, Texas, Morris had lived all his life in Rush Springs, He made farming his life's work, growing peanuts and black diamond watermelons. He was known for having the 'best" melons around. Morris was a huge sports fan, he supported the Rush Springs Redskins, OKC Thunder, Texas Rangers, Boston Red Sox and the OU Sooners. He was involved with many civic and church organizations including, the Rush Springs All Sports Association, Rush Springs Lion's Club, he was Chairman of the Melon Exhibit at the Watermelon Festival, he was active on the Church Council and the Church Finance Committee. He enjoyed fishing, playing dominos, gardening and anything to do with the grandkids. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, he will be greatly missed by family, friends and all of Rush Springs. Morris was a member of Vimy Ridge Baptist Church.

Morris was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Nell McAdoo
