Age 74, of Silver City, formerly of Findley Lake, N.Y., died at Tucson Medical Center, son of the late Grant and Lois Coverdale Ward.
He worked at General Electric Co. in the locomotive division for many years before relocating to southern California in 1963. He served as vice president of Prudential Savings and Loan Association for 15 years. He then worked as facilities superintendent for all public buildings in Pomoma, Calif., until his retirement in 1986. He saw military service in the South Pacific in the U.S. Army's 86 Division Black Hawks as a tank gunner, and in the Air Transport Command, U.S. Army Air Corps. He was a member of the Indian Hills Baptist Church and Tyrone Worship Service in Silver City, N.M.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Jean.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Norma Jaggi Ward; a son, Terry L. Ward of Azusa, Calif.; two daughters, Connie Griffith and her husband, Ronald, of New Middletown, Ohio, and Susan Gatlin and her husband, Jim, of Elgin, S.C.; three sisters, Lois Toombs of Silver City, June Wright of Findley Lake and Carol Ward of Erie; a brother, Roger Ward of Azusa, Calif.; four grandchildren; a great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside was held at Ft. Bayard National Cemetery, Grant County, N.M.
