ATHENS-QUINCY – James Ralph Crump, 69, died Sunday, Oct. 31, 2004, at Baptist Hospital East in Memphis. He was born Sept. 27, 1935, to Amos Earl Crump and Annie Bessie Abbott Crump in Monroe County. He was a lifelong resident of Monroe County and a graduate of Greenwood Springs High School. He served in the National Guard and Reserves. He was a Mason and a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Becker. He was a retired superintendent for Kerr-McGee Chemical in Hamilton.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Tisdale-Lann Memorial Chapel in Aberdeen with Bro. Mac Phillips and Bro. Tom Sheffield officiating. Burial will be in the Durrett Cemetery in the Athens-Quincy community.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy West Crump of Athens-Quincy; a daughter, Donna Crump Pate of Amory; three sons, Len Crump and wife, Vickie, and Ron Crump and wife, Tracy, all of Tupelo, and Lee Crump of Athens-Quincy; four sisters, Gertrude Picard and husband, N.E., of Gravette, Ark., Evelyn Gibson of La Quinta, Calif., Jean Burns and husband, Gene, of Lake Havasu City, Ariz., and Sarah Schroeder of Desert Hot Springs, Calif.; two brothers, Doug Crump of Riggins, Idaho, and Bill Crump and wife, Kathryn, of Aberdeen; four grandchildren, Will Pate, Wes Pate, Jordan Crump and Jared Crump.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and four brothers.
