Ryan Peter Murphy, 24 of Millbrook, died suddenly on Friday, May 24, 2013 in Ossining,NY.
Born in Poughkeepsie on April 25, 1989, he was the son of Joseph and Rita McCall Murphy. Ryan was a graduate of Our Lady of Lourdes High School, Class of 2008 and was a student at SUNY Purchase studying Environmental Science, preparing to graduate this coming December.
He was actively involved with Boy Scouts of America for many years having achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in 2008. Ryan loved music and especially enjoyed playing guitar and his drums.
Ryan is survived by his parents, Joseph and Rita Murphy of Millbrook; his maternal grandparents, Bernard and Rita McCall of Philadelphia,PA; his sister, Katie Shirhall of Charlotte,NC ; his 2 brothers, Christopher Murphy of Jackson Heights and Sean Murphy of Manhattan; his niece, Madeleine Shirhall; his nephew, Nathaniel Murphy; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday, May 29 at 11 am from Regina Coeli Church, 2 Harvey St., Hyde Park. Interment will follow in Washington Hollow Cemetery, Pleasant Valley.
