MANSFIELD: Katie Lee Franklin, 85, of 958 Kentland Dr. passed this life on Saturday, September 13, 2014 in Ohio Health MedCentral Mansfield Hospital.Mrs. Franklin was born on Friday, September 6, 1929 to the late John and Caroline Miner Powell in Greenville, Alabama and had lived in Mansfield the past 62 years. She was a former employee of Geauga Plastics retiring after 10 years of service. Katie was a member of the Mt. Hermon Baptist Church where she served on the Mother's Board. Katie is survived by two daughters: Gloria (Jimmie) Mosley, Kay Franklin, Mansfield; three sons: Joseph, and Willie (Lucille) Franklin, Mansfield, and Elder Tillman (Phyllis) Franklin Jr., Lucas; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren; and brother: Jessie "Jetney"(Pat) Powell, Mansfield.In addition to her parents, Katie was also preceded in death by her husband, Tillman, Sr.; son, Joel; grandson, David Boyd; four sisters, an infant, Fannie Fields, Annabelle Norris, and Caroline Powell; four brothers, Albert, Fred, Robert, and Johnnie Powell.Friends may call Thursday, from 9-10 a.m. in the Mt. Hermon Baptist Church. Homegoing services will begin at 10 a.m. with her pastor Rev. Clinton Herans officiating. Interment will be in Mansfield Cemetery
