Arthur was born to Oscar and Minnie (Mathison) Theige. He graduated from Westby High School in 1945 and later from UW-Madison. He married Rena Williams on Feb. 25,1950, in Iowa. Art was a proactive conservationist and farmed his entire life on South Ridge, rural Westby. He was active in his community and was a lifelong member of Vang Lutheran Church. He enjoyed fishing,baseball,Packers football and family gatherings.
Survivors include his wife Rena; three sons Bruce, Monte and Barry; three daughters Cathy, Lynne, Nancy, seven grandchildren, seven great-grand children.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister Jean Marck.
Burial was in Vang Lutheran Church Cemetery.
