Emma J. (Brush) Harter, 92, of Ettrick, Wis., passed away Thursday, December 11, 2014, at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse. She was born August 23, 1922, in Hesper, Iowa, to Martin and Clara (Wolden) Jacobson. On June 7, 1941, she married Robert Brush and he preceded her in death on May 10, 1981. Emma later married Francis Harter on July 12, 1985 and he preceded her in death on March 2, 1989.

She enjoyed golfing, playing cards, fishing, going to the casino, bowling, doing puzzles and playing iPad games. In addition to all of those favorite pastimes, she loved visiting and telling stories and looked forward to the many activities that were offered at Grand View Care Center in Blair where she resided.

Survivors include six children, Darlene Jae , Daniel (Tande) Brush, Debra (Keith) Harter, Dennis (Billie Sue) Brush, and Darrell and Dale Brush; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and one on the way; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, Alex Brush; three sisters; six brothers; and other relatives.

Burial will be in Ettrick Cemetery.
