1st employed by the DHIA (Dairy Herd Improvement Association) as a milk tester for 12 years and then by the State of Vermont Liquor Department for 26 years until he retired in 1993.
Mr. Bassett enjoyed bowling, softball, hunting, fishing and playing cards.
Survived by his lifelong companion of 49 years; 3 stepdaughters; 2 stepsons; a sister; 10 step-grandchildren; 9 step-great-grandchildren; a niece ; and nephews
Predeceased by a brother, Stanley Bassett, in 2009 and a niece, Alice Mann, in 2009.
Interment - Riverside Cemetery, Killington
