MRS. CARRIE LANKFORD

Mrs. Carrie Josephine Lankford, 83, 526 Plainview Street died at 5 a.m. today in her residence following a long illness.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow in Collier-Butler Funeral Home, with the Revs. William Rose and Herman Cobb officiating.

Burial will be in Forrest Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Jack C. Griffin, Gary Holloway, Robert Bradley, Larry, Kenneth and Barry Lankford, Floyd Wilder, Perry Joe McDowell and Eddie Guest

Honorary pallbearers will be Will Holmes, L.D. Martin, Willard Mellock, Gordon Ashley, Drs. T.m. Owens, Hoyt Lumpkin and all other personal friends.

Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Lonnie Stovall, Mrs. George Holloway, Miss Fairy Mae Lankford and Miss Helen Lankford, all of Gadsden, and Mrs. E.T. Griffin, Attalla; two sons, Coleman L. Lankford, Jr. and Earl D. Lankford, both of Attalla; one brother, H.W. Duncan, Gadsden; 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

A native of Tuscaloosa and a resident of Gadsden most of her life, Mrs. Lankford was a member of 12th Street Baptist Church.

The body will remain at Collier-Butler through the hour of service.
