He was born Sept. 5, 1921, the son of Chester Stevens Sr. and Francis Thompson. He graduated from Richmond High School in 1937. On March 6, 1948, he married Bernice Hetzer.
Robert farmed in Spring Grove until 1955, and then he moved to farm in the town of Delmar.
Robert is survived by his wife, Bernice; sons, Robert Stevens Jr. of Boyd and Kenneth Stevens (Joy) of Turtle Lake; daughter, Gail Klay (Terry) of Wausau, Wis.; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Edith (Willis) Stanek of Thorp; and brother, Chester (Ann) Stevens of Boyd.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Lucy Harrison, Burton Stevens and Frank Stevens.
The visitation will be from 10 a.m. until a celebration of life service at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 21, at Plombon Funeral Home in Stanley, Wis. Inurnment will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery, rural Boyd.
