Memorial services for Guy Andre Burleson, 61, of Lufkin, will be held at Clawson Assembly of God, with Pastor Kevin Poage officiating.

Guy was born June 18, 1953 in Alexandria, Virginia. He passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2014 in a Houston hospital.

Guy was a fire fighter for the Department of Navy, serving in Japan, Corpus Christi, Northern Virginia, Bethesda, MA, and the National Institute of Health, where he was a fire inspector as well as a fire fighter. "Mr. B" was a very loved school bus driver for the Hudson ISD. He was a member of the Texas Association of Softball Officials "TASO" and officiated Girls' Fast Pitch. Guy loved his country and God – he held that above everything else. He was a member of Clawson Assembly of God and accepted Christ as his Savior on Father's Day 1995. He was also a member of the Christian Firefighters Association.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Burleson of Lufkin; mother, Frances Pearson and her husband Fred of Florida; daughters, Madalyne Burleson Logan and Kerigan Burleson, son, Connor and Savannah Burleson all of Lufkin; grandsons, Ryder Jack Logan and Maximus Caine Logan; a soon-to-be born grandchild; brothers and sisters-in-law, Don Micheal and Tammy Burleson of North Carolina and Craig and Tina Woodruff of Virginia; and several nieces and nephews.

Guy was preceded in death by his father, Pat Burleson; his grandmother who raised him, Theadosia Brooks; stepmother, Louise Woodruff Burleson; and sister, Laura Woodruff; uncle, Harold Brooks Burleson and his wife, Marie Buck Burleson of Florida.

Services have been placed in the trust of Gipson Funeral Home.
