Mr. Nashwinter owned and operated Haycock Kennel in Quakertown for nine years. Previously he was the proprietor of Bob's Service Station in Niagara Falls, N.Y., for 17 years. He was a past president of the Gasoline Dealers Association in Niagara Falls. He was a former president of the Holy Name Society at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, a former officer of the Knights of Columbus in Quakertown and a member of the Knights of Columbus in Niagara Falls. He was a past president of the Karthaus Lions Club and chairman of the Frenchville Picnic. Mr. Nashwinter received a 100-hour pin for volunteer work with the Friends of St. Mary's. He was a crossbearer and Eucharistic minister in the St. Mary's Home Chapel.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma L. Valimont Nashwinter, on May 30, 1995; a sister, Lucy Raymond; and a brother, Lawrence Nashwinter.
He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Richard (Donna) Kellick of Niagara Falls, Mrs. Chester (Janice) Engle and Mrs. Michael (Mary Kay) Reilly, both of Chincoteague, Va.; a sister, Regina Records of Ransonville, N.Y.; three brothers, Robert and Paul Nashwinter, both of Niagara Falls, and Francis Nashwinter of Pekins, N.Y.; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Frenchville.
