Dolores A. Spillane, 85, of Englewood, FL passed away March 24, 2015. Dolores was born May 9, 1929 in Newark, NJ to Marie (Spengler) and Walter R. Eberly. Dolores went back to school after her children were independent to earn her associates degree in library science from Montclair State College. She then worked for the city of Clifton (NJ) as a librarian. She was a talented artist working in water colors, acrylics and stained glass. She loved to read, archived her family history by scrapbooking, and was an avid seamstress. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Spillane just four months ago. Survivors include her children, James J. and Joan Spillane of Columbia, S.C., Carolyn Costello of Rotonda West, Fl., Janet and John Scalzitti of Fort Myers, Fl., John F. and Dayle Spillane of Piscataway, N.J., Robert M. Spillane of Englewood, Margaret and Michael Greco of West Trenton, N.J., and Kathleen and Daniel Spitzer of Fullerton, Ca.; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 10 AM-12 PM, Sunday, March 29 at Farley Funeral Home, Venice Chapel. Inurnment will be at 9:30 AM, Monday, March 30 at Sarasota National Cemetery.
