YORK Louise Brice Kruger, 92, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 9, 2015, at SpiriTrust Lutheran in York in the presence of her children. Louise was born in Skaneateles, N.Y. on August 28, 1922, a daughter to the late George D. and Valentine M. Y. (LeCollin) Brice. She served in the Cadet Corps of Nursing during WWII. She worked for the Visiting Nurses Association of York during the 1960s. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from the University of PA in 1969, and her Master's degree from NYU in 1979. She was the Director of Home Care for St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital in NYC. Louise was a member of the Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church in NYC for over 40 years; a life member of the Appalachian Mountain Club; and a 20-year volunteer for the Central Park Conservancy. Louise was an original participant of the Women's Health Initiative. Louise loved NYC and she took full advantage of the many activities there. She enjoyed painting watercolors, playing bridge, reading, walking, and travelling. She was very devoted to her family and will be dearly missed by them and her many friends. She is survived by her children, Robert Kruger and wife, Monica, of York, and Sherry Lookofsky of York; grandchildren, Maggie and Bryce Kruger; nieces and nephews; and step-grandchildren, Joseph, Jayne, Peter and Susan Lookofsky. She was preceded in death by her sister, Evelyn Alexander. Louise will be inurned in the Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church Columbarium in NYC at a later date. Arrangements for a local service are still pending. Contributions may be made to the FAPC Generation to Generation Campaign, 7 West 55th Street, NYC, NY 10019.
