C. Millard Wood

WOOD, C. Millard – Age 85 of Sutherlin, passed away June 1, 1997 in Roseburg. He was born in Enumclaw, Washington on November 29, 1911 to Guy and Elsie Wood. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Grace Carpenter Wood. He was preceded in death by a son, Charles and brother, Ervin. He is survived by a daughter, Sharon Rich and her husband Kendall of Portland; grandsons David Rich and his wife Eva of Budapest, Hungary, Steven Rich and his wife Lisa of Casper, Wyoming; a brother, Delbert Wood and his wife Margaret of Redding, California, John and Lynn Wood of Estacada; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was a Past Master of Oakland Masonic Lodge #16 and recipient of the Honored Hiram Award. He was also a member of Scottish Rite and Hillah Temple Shrine Club. He was a charter member and Past MOT of Umpqua Travelers, Past Oregon State Director and Past National Goodwill Ambassador of National Camping Travelers. He was an active member of the community, holding positions on the city budget committee and water board and other civic endeavors. He was co-founder of Sutherlin Plywood and a partner in Carpenter & Wood Logging Co. Memorial services will be held Wednesday, June 4, 1997 at 1 p.m. at CHAPEL OF THE FIRS in Sutherlin. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to be left to the Scottish Rite Childhood Language Disorders, Portland, Oregon. Donation may be left at Chapel of the Firs in Sutherlin.
