Bridgetown Monitor, May 1909 - Mrs. Eliza Hicks
At the advanced age of ninety-three years of age, Mrs. Eliza Hicks, widow of the late William Hicks of Centerlea, closed her earthly career on Friday, 7th inst. She was the last representative on earth in the community of a generation which has passed away and she was esteemed as one of the mist kind-hearted and amiable of her kndred. Her father was Ebenezer Messenger, whose family of either children have all passed of to the unseen shores. Mrs. Hicks left four sons, Alfred, Major, Troop, and Wilbert; also 22 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. In all of these she manifested great interest and she was greatly loved by them all.
