Mrs. Doris Drake Gaskins, 87, died Sunday, October 25, 2015.

Mrs. Gaskins was the daughter of the late Roy and Thelma Drake.

A native of the Askin community of Craven County, she lived in Norfolk VA from 1950 to 1986. She retired after working with Virginia National Bank and Sovran Bank. She was later employed with Bear Grass Tours in Williamston.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gaskins was preceded in death by her ex-husband, Cooper Gaskins and three sons, Braxton, Gary and Greg.

She leaves to cherish her memory: two daughters, Carolyn Gaskins Suttles and husband, William, of Raleigh, NC and Gail Gaskins Snelling and husband, Herb of Suffolk, VA.
brother, Dorman Drake and wife, Lisa, of Williamston, NC; 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends.

A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, October 31, 2015 at 11 am in the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel in Vanceboro. Burial will follow in the Drake Family Cemetery.
