Jettie Mae Robinson Rash, age 66 of Elizabethton passed away Friday, July 13, 2012 at her residence following an extended illness. She was a native of Johnson County, but had lived in Carter County for the past 31 years. She was a daughter of the late Luther and Carrie Lee Forrester Payne. She was a member of Watauga First Baptist Church. She enjoyed church, her family and cooking. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Payne. Survivors include two daughters, Shelia R., Angie R., both of Elizabethton, two grandchildren, brother, Jimmy P. and his wife, Helen, sister, Lois B. and her husband, Doug, all of Mountain City. Several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service for Jettie Mae Robinson Rash will be conducted at 7 PM, Monday, July 16, 2012, in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Monday from 5 PM until 7 PM, prior to the service. The family will receive friends at the residence at other times. The graveside service and interment will be conducted at 11 AM, Tuesday, July 17 at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Those who wish to attend the graveside service are ask to meet at the funeral home at 10:15 AM, Tuesday to go in procession to the cemetery. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to Watauga First Baptist, 111 East Third Street, Watauga, TN 37694.
