Hovendick, Donald L. Age 88 Village of Four Seasons, MO, formerly of Omaha, passed away at Osage Beach on Monday, June 29, 2015. He was born on December 12, 1926 in Herman, NE to Lester and Mabel (Skinner) Hovendick. He was a 1944 graduate of Craig High School, Craig, NE, and a 1951 graduate of the University of Nebraska with an Agri-Business Degree, and a member of the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity at UNL. Donald served his country in the United States Army after World War II from September 20, 1945 until April 27, 1947, with the Army of Occupation in Japan. He and Phyllis Allen were married on June 19, 1949. Donald began working at PCA in 1951, and rose to President of the Federal Intermediate Credit Bank in Omaha in 1972, before retiring in 1984. While in Omaha, he was an active member of Central United Presbyterian Church; the Omaha Rotary Club; director and Vice President of the Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce; the Masonic Lodge; Omaha Agribusiness Club; and the Omaha Press Club. He was named an Admiral in the Navy of the Great State of Nebraska, and he was a Turtle. Survivors include his wife, Phyllis of Village of Four Season; 2 daughters, Karen Sanz and husband Dan of Eugene, OR, and Annie Hovendick of Omaha; 3 grandsons; 2 great granddaughters; and a brother, Dick Hovendick and wife Jackie of Beatrice, NE. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Mabel (Skinner) Hovendick; and a brother, Bud Hovendick.

MEMORIAL SERVICES will be at 11am on Wednesday, July 8, at the Craig Methodist Church in Craig, NE. Interment will be prior to Service at 10am on Wednesday, in the Craig Cemetery. There will be No Public Visitation. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the Craig Foundation; Harper Chapel Methodist Church; or a charity of your choice.
