Andrew N. Stone, 42, of 15 Parklawn Blvd., Columbus, former Ironton resident, died at 3:30 a.m. today in Grant Hospital, Columbus. He had entered the hospital Thursday morning. Mr. Stone had been in poor health for several weeks.
He was born May 23, 1915 at Raceland, son of Mrs. Reta Freeman Stone, of Ironton, and the late Neff N. Stone. He was a veteran of World War 2 and had been employed with the C&O Railway as a carman for 12 years. Mr. Stone had been residing in Columbus since March, 1956 when he was transferred there by the C&O Railway. While here he attended the First E. U. B. Church and was a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Carmen, of Russell. On May 4, 1934 he was married to Evelyn Rowe who survives.
Surviving in addition to the wife are: a son, Ronald Lee Stone at home; a daughter, Mrs. Gerald (Lavern) Giger, of Hamilton; the mother, Mrs. Reta Stone, of Ironton; and two sisters, Mrs. C. R. (Helen) Carey, of Knoxville, Tenn. and Mrs. Chester (Bobbie) Gillenwater, of Ironton.
The body is at the Tracy Brammer Funeral Home pending completion of funeral arrangements.
