Mrs. Janice Davis Raney, 72, of Blooming Grove passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at her residence. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, September 23, 2016, at Corley Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, September 24, 2016, at the Corley Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Charky Marquis and Dr. Rick Lamb officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton-Beeman Cemetery.
Janice was born in Corsicana, Texas, to the late William Henry Talkington, Jr. and Frances Elizabeth Nokes Talkington. She worked for many years in the Radiology Department at Navarro Regional Hospital until she couldn’t work anymore. Later in life, she married Grover Earl Raney and they shared about a year and a half of marriage.
She loved to go antique shopping, which included buying or just looking. She had a very caring and giving heart, and had a very contagious smile which she will be remembered for.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Grover Earl Raney; mother, Frances Nelson, brothers: Van, Richard and Bill Talkington; and a half-brother, Little Bill Talkington.
Survivors include her sons, Tony Davis and wife, Karen, of Blooming Grove, and Jeff Davis and wife, Kathy, of Eureka; grandchildren, Tony Davis and wife, Jessica, of Blooming Grove, Chris Davis and fiancée, Ashley Krajca, of Corsicana, Emily Smith and husband, Dalton, of Corsicana, Jacob Davis and wife, Sammantha, of Dawson, and James Davis, of Eureka; great-grandchildren: Madison, Makenna and Mason Davis, of Blooming Grove, Mason Krajca, Pake Davis and Ezekiel Smith, all of Corsicana; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Margie Talkington, of Corsicana, Mary K.
