Kenneth DeWayne "Wayne" Taylor, 75, of Fairfield, died Thursday, September 22, 2016, at his residence. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Saturday, September 24, 2016, at Capps Memorial Chapel. Funeral Service will be at 2 p.m., Sunday, September 25, 2016, at First Baptist Church in Fairfield. Burial will follow in Lake Chapel Cemetery.

Wayne was born in Bertram, Texas, to the late Floyd Riley "Buck" and Ruby Whitby Taylor. He attended school in Burnet, Texas, and served in the United States Marine Corp from 1958 to 1962. Wayne married Lanora Gibson of Marble Falls, Texas, on July 28, 1961.

He went to work for Industrial Generating Company (Texas Utilities) in Rockdale, Texas, in 1966, transferring to Big Brown Mine in Fairfield, Texas, in 1971. In 1999, he retired from TXU after 33 years of service. Wayne’s passion was his family.

He loved spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, and extended family. He loved family vacations and gatherings, and was always happy to have his large family around him for holidays, family dinners, and grandchildren sleepovers.

Survivors include his wife, Lanora; children: Jeff Taylor Taylor and wife, Lisa, John Scott and Patti Taylor, of Teague, Texas, Jason Taylor and Camille Taylor, of Frisco, Texas, Carol Taylor, of Fairfield, Texas, and Shelly Wilson and husband, John; 18 grandchildren: five great-grandchildren; his only sibling, Charlene Taylor Willen and husband, Bill, reside in Toledo, Ohio; other relatives and many friends.
