Rosemary Altman, age 88, a resident of Danbury Drive in Columbia, passed away Friday morning, January 20, 2017 at Maury Regional Medical Center.



A Memorial Service will be held Monday, January 23rd at 10:30 AM at Riverside United Methodist Church with Jim Norton officiating. The family will visit with friends on Monday at the Church from 10:00AM until the service at 10:30AM. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.



Born on July 24, 1928 in Baltimore, Ohio, Rosemary was the daughter of the late Albert D. Murphy and the late Mary E. Davis Murphy. She was previously employed as a banker and was a member of Riverside United Methodist Church. She was a lifelong church member and loved to sing tenor in the choir. She and Dick were great fishermen and could dance the night away to Big Band Music. Rosemary lived life on her own terms and was independent and “in charge” until her final moment.



She is survived by her sons: Timothy (Janice) Altman of Spring Hill,TN, Thomas (Martha) Altman of Royal Oak, MI, Tracy (Lori) Altman of Hazel Park, MI; brother: Albert “Bill” (Patty) Murphy of Columbia, TN; eight grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.



In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Charles Richard “Dick” Altman; and sister: Frances Zollinger.



The family requests donations to be made to The Tennessee Kidney Foundation, 37 Peabody Street, Suite 206, Nashville, TN
