The backbone of horseracing in North America are horses put to stud and the offspring they produce. A title "Sire of the Year" is designated each year to the animal that has sired horses that have accumulated the most earnings in a given year. Nasrullah led the sire list five times...1955, 1956, 1959, 1960 and 1962. He sired nine horses that were recognized by official voting as champions of their divisions...most notable, T.V. Lark, What A Pleasure and Raja Baba and two that were Horses of the Year...Nashua and Bold Ruler who holds the modern record of seven consecutive sire championships from 1963-1969.
