Alfred E. Foster, 78, Logansport
He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in the Korean War.

Alfred E. Foster, 78, Logansport, died at 2:33 a.m. Friday, Aug. 25, 2006, at IU Medical Center, Indianapolis.

He was born at Logansport on May 1, 1928, to Verna and Loretta (Welch) Foster. He married Edna G. Oliver at Delphi on April 16, 1955. She survives.

He was a veteran of the United States Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Panama.

Other survivors include sons, David (Deb) Foster, Peachtree, Ga., and Terry (Dirinda) Foster, Logansport; daughter, Vicki (Bruce) Burns, Indianapolis; brothers, Ed (Joan) Foster, Logansport, and Bud (Betty) Foster, Lake Placid, Fla.; grandchildren, Chase and Cameron Foster, Logansport, Matthew and Meghann Burns, Indianapolis, Kevin Foster and Kari (Chad) Munoz, both of Peachtree, Ga.; one great-grandchild.

Brothers, Floyd Foster and Robert Foster and sisters, Anne Thomas and Florence Adair are deceased.

Visitation will be from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday, at Gundrum Funeral Home, Logansport. An Elks services will be held at 5:30 p.m. Sunday and Masonic services will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday followed by a Shrine Processional, at the funeral home. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, at the funeral home with Father Christopher Weldon officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Logansport with full military rites.

Memorials may be made to the Shrine Children's Hospital.

A celebration of life reception will be held Monday, following the funeral services, at the Logansport Shrine Club.
