Brewmaster. He learned the brewery business with his father Theodore, who had established the Lafayette Brewery in 1848. After working for two years for the Brinckwirth-Griesdieck-Nolker Brewery in St. Louis, Missouri, he travel to Milwaukee to learn more about the brewing business by working at the Blatz Brewery. After studying there and in Wheeling, West Virginia, he returned to St. Louis to rejoin the firm of Brinckwirth, Griesedieck and Nolker. Later, the firm became known as Brinckwirth and Nolker, and later to the Brinckwirth and Nolker Brewing Company. The company was consolidated with others into the St. Louis Brewing Association in 1889. Brinckwirth was assistant manager of the Brinckwirth and Nolker branch until his retirement in 1902. He was also vice president of the German-American Bank.
