Barbara L. Campbell was born on October 29, 1930, in Fresno, California, and died March 7, 1995, in Fresno. She was a graduate of Fresno High School and Fresno State University. She attended the University of Southern California for graduate work. A pianist, she worked as a music and social studies teacher at Kings Canyon Junior High School in Fresno.

 

As a teen, in 1949 she served as Worthy Advisor of Fresno Assembly No. 51 of the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls. Later, she went on to hold several adult positions in the organization, culminating with her tenure as Supreme Deputy in the State of California from 1967 through 1973.

 

Miss Campbell was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, where she was a Past Matron of Fresno Chapter No. 295 and later became Worthy Grand Matron for the State of California.
