Doris was the beloved daughter of the late Roy Thomas and Harriet Piner Thomas and was preceded in death by her dear husband, Leslie Batson. Mrs. Batson was a longtime member and Sunday school teacher at Hampstead Baptist Church; she dearly loved her church and the Tuesday morning ladies group. Mrs. Batson was a long time clerk with Les Paul Auction Company. She is survived by her children: Wayne Batson and wife Denise of Hampstead, Kelly Witherspoon and husband Richard of Hampstead; grandchildren; Paul Batson and wife Liz of Concord, NC, Lori Batson of Hampstead, Katie Witherspoon of Hampstead and Jeffrey Witherspoon of Hampstead; great grandchildren; Ayden Batson and Ella Batson; sister; Elizabeth Manero and husband Tony of Eliot, Maine; sister in law; Gloria Hurst and husband Jack of Hampstead; numerous nieces and nephews.
