Marvin, the son of Sicilian immigrants grew up in Woodside Queens, NY. Christened "Mario" but soon after his parents dubbed him "Marvin" and that legally became his first name. He married his childhood sweetheart Rose (Randazzo) and they had more than 50 years of marriage. He once said "Men go to the ends of the earth to find the perfect woman for them, I was lucky, she grew up next door." One of the first pastimes that he enjoyed with his then-sweetheart who became his wife was walking amongst the beautiful monuments of Calvary Cemetery in Queens. Even after more than 50 years and a change of locale, Rose and Marvin still enjoyed strolls through beautiful historic cemeteries to enjoy the monuments, scenery and history. He served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II and he was also active in many civic and veteran's groups in his later years. He was an accountant and worked "in the city" until his retirement after which he and his wife moved to the Jersey Shore. A frequent visitor to his relatives in Rhode Island, he loved to see family and friends and play golf. He enjoyed many trips throughout the Northeast and to Florida in pursuit of good times, good people and a good green. His most noted feature was his extremely mischievous and utterly infectious laugh. No one laughed alone in his presence. He was a devout Catholic and family man and was a communicant of St. Martin Kolbe Church in Toms River. He leaves his wife, a son, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The motto, he said, for a good marriage was "Oh the usual stuff you vow and you better mean it but they should have added...life, love, and laughter! That's what really makes people stick together." When he became successful in business, he bought a Cadillac car, he favored them for the rest of his life. He was affectionately known as "The Cadillac Man." Everyone in the family has wonderful memories of laughing with "Miv" and riding in "The Caddy". The only recollection tinged with sadness that any of us has is of the day we lost him. With the love and gusto in which he lived his life it's easy to think of him with a fond smile and still hear the ring of his unique laugh. He is tenderly remembered by all who knew him.
