He was the son of Ben D. and Jo Anne (Jones) Rogers. He married Clarice A. Stroops on Jan. 26, 1944 in Burlington Iowa. Surviving are his wife, one daughter Linda A. Townsend, one sister Margaret. two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister. He was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran of World War II. He attended Browns Business College. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a railway mail clerk, and for the Galesburg Post Office for 31 years retiring in July 1978. He did maintance work at the former Farmers & Mechanics Bank, and was a driver for the former Foley Mortuary for 15 years. He was a member of Vesper Masonic Lodge 584 for 49 years. He was a member of the Retired Federal Employees, the Galesburg Railroad Museum and the Galesburg Amateur Radio Club
