My Great Grand Uncle.

Son of James J & Abigail B (Butler) Carney.

Brother of Mary, James Jr., Ann, Francis, Madeline, Frederick, Sarah, Abigail, Doris, Paul & an unnamed baby girl who died in infancy.

First married to Nora M Bennett on December 8, 1917 in Boston, MA.

Pierce & Nora had 3 children, Pierce Franklin Jr.(1919-2003), Abigail Ann (1921-2011) & Donald Michael (1922-2002).

Later married to Violet L Triggs, after Nora's death in 1930 from Tuberculosis.

Father of Judith Ann & John William.

An accomplished actor, musician & songwriter for many years.

Sometimes worked in Vaudeville under the stage names "Joe Pierce" or "Joe Carney".

In August 1961, Uncle Pierce was appointed Guardian of his friend & fellow former Vaudeville star Frank Fay (1891-1961) who was suffering from a mental breakdown. Fay died one month later.

My Uncle Pierce was originally buried in Desert Memorial Park in Riverside, California. Then later reburied in Washington state to be with his wife.
