Jeremiah Hawkins is a descendant (DNA proof) of William Hawkins of Providence County, Rhode Island (b. 1609 Devonshire, England & emigrated to RI in 1634 d. 1699 RI)

Jeremiah lived for a short time in 1810 in Newport Township, Herkimer County, New York. His farm was sold to Stephen Hawkins, possibly a cousin. Jeremiah & his wife Mary [Babcock] moved to Hamburg Township, Erie County, New York between 1810-1820. Jeremiah died about 1829, possibly in Illinois, and Mary died in 1843 probably in Hamburg, NY.
