Spc. Christopher Taylor lifted weights at the YMCA every day before his unit was deployed. "He was a picture of muscle and fitness," Michael Taylor said of his 6-foot-5, 270-pound son. "And he had a heart as big as he was." Taylor, 25, of Daphne, Ala., was killed Feb. 16 in Baghdad when his vehicle hit a roadside bomb. He was assigned to a military police company in Fairhope, La. "He was always sort of the mediator between things," Michael Taylor said. "He never wanted to hurt anybody's feelings ... He was the one that would hold his other brothers back and make sure he looked both ways in the street before they crossed." Michael and Priscilla Taylor said their son had planned to attend Southeast Louisiana University when he returned from Iraq, and wanted to study law enforcement. "He wanted to be a game warden or a U.S. marshal," his father said.
