Source; Craig Empire Courier Newspaper, dated 11 June 1930, Moffatt County Colorado's oldest Citizen Dies, at 92 years, Kate K Butler, Moffatt County's oldest citizen who was born during the administration of Van Buren, and who was a contemporary of three wars, the Civil, Spanish American, and World War, has passed from this life after reaching the ripe old age of 92 years, Mrs. Kate K. Butler, died Friday evening at the home of her son, Harry E. Butler, at Round Bottom. Her death came as a natural result of advanced age. She passed away after only a 24 hours illness. Kate K. Butler, was born in the East, December 13, 1839, She came to Northwestern Colorado, about ten years ago, from Grand Valley, and has since made her home with her son Harry. She is survived also by a daughter, Kitty B. Chase, and a son, J. E. Butler, both of California. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, at 3:30 O'clock at the Robacker Home Mortuary. Rev. J. K. Bridges officiated. A vocal number was furnished by Mrs. E. R. Walker, and A. L. Day, Interment was in the Craig Cemetery.
